I remember reading an article about le Clerq bicycle guns,apparently they were mainly carried by cycle enthusiasts to ward off packs of stray  dogsin and around the French cities and towns.cheers, Jock.

Hi Jock, Maybe Le Clerq made the shotguns for tandem velocipedes, so one of the occupants could 'ride shotgun' in case of marauding poodles & bichon frise!

They were made well into the 1960s. Sandersons in Portage, WI imported hundreds of them back them.
